Radio Frequency Facial Ruined My Skin.

“Radiofrequency ruined my face” – is it really true?

I am writing this blog post about “Radiofrequency ruined my face” after being interviewed this week by a journalist about the rise of energy therapies such as HIFU and radiofrequency treatments among young women.

You may have already seen my blog post and YouTube video about failed HIFU treatments. These are by far my most read and most viewed videos on YouTube.

Radiofrequency, Ultherapy and HIFU heat the skin deeply. Therefore, it is extremely important that you understand how the treatment works and its risks. These treatments are not suitable for everyone. You absolutely need an experienced practitioner who knows what they are doing and how to treat you to avoid becoming one of those who has their face ruined after a radiofrequency treatment.

You have seen the results and you want them too!

First of all, let me say that the before-and-after pictures you often see are not real! Many practitioners post photos taken just before or after the treatment. Unfortunately, it takes longer than 45 minutes to increase collagen levels and achieve visible results! What you see in these photos is post-inflammatory swelling caused by mild, controlled skin damage. This is exactly what happens: the skin is traumatized, triggering a wound healing response that stimulates collagen production.

Results are visible approximately 3-6 months after your last treatment, depending on the specific treatment and your skin type. A series of treatments is always required.

Whether you choose radiofrequency microneedling, radiofrequency alone, HIFU, Ultherapy, or another treatment that involves skin heating, there are a few things you absolutely need to know. When someone claims “Radiofrequency ruined my face,” it’s usually because their skin was overtreated, overheated, or simply wasn’t suitable for the treatment in the first place! Check out my video below and my HIFU video on YouTube, where I explain everything in much more detail.

How to Avoid Radiofrequency Ruining Your Face

You really don’t want to be one of those people who says radiofrequency ruined their face, do you?

I don’t think so!

My preferred treatment method is radiofrequency microneedling for energy treatments (plus a double dose of collagen induction through microneedling!). I love this method so much because I can precisely control the needle depth and energy level. This allows me to tailor my treatments exactly to the client and the specific area of their face. Unlike Morpheus8, I don’t treat at the same depth to avoid unwanted fat and volume loss. You don’t need to be aggressive and treat deeply to achieve results.

Here are some tips on how to avoid damaging your skin with radiofrequency treatments!

Read this blog post about the aging process to better understand it. It’s not just our skin that changes! Nourish your skin from the inside out – through diet, a healthy lifestyle (sleep and stress reduction!) – and you’ll see the positive effects. Check out the YouTube videos I’ve shared; they provide a lot of insight. Not all treatments are suitable for everyone. Discuss your desired results with your therapist and be aware of the risks.

Don’t panic, it’s not just bad!

I know, I just wrote a whole blog post about how radiofrequency treatments have damaged the face, and we discussed the risks of this and other energy treatments like HIFU, Ultherapy and RF microneedling.

“` However, these treatments can be amazing when done correctly and on the right clients. They can significantly improve the look and feel of the skin as they address the signs of aging caused by declining collagen levels, reduced collagen quality, elastin loss, and general aging processes. However, it is important to understand that during this time, it is not just our skin (but our entire body) that is changing.

However, treatments alone are never the solution. I believe that products and treatments are the final touch! There is so much you can do for your skin quality, lifestyle, and diet.
